I AM CONCENTRATING NOW ON TAMIL FILMS-ANUSHKA

Anushka who has become reknowned actress among Tamils through her film Rendu, is now acting with Vijay in Vettaikaran. After she had completed her Rendu, she began to act in Telugu films and there also she has carved a niche for herself. Recently, the actress was in Chennai and when a group of press people met her she said, that she wanted to concentrate on Tamil films and she could not forget the Tamil audiences. She said the film Arundhathi had brought her fame but she did not want to live the character in other films too. She is acting now with Suriya for Singam directed by Hari. She is going to act in another Tamil film opposite Karthi to be directed by a new entrant.She said that her Telugu version Billa is to be released on April 2. " However I will act as heroine, if the story and her character give me an impression" said the actress.

FANS CLUB FOR NAYANTHARA

BY N.THYAGARAJAN In a recently started new film, Thiruna.Thirunavukarasu , the director M.S.Ravi began his shooting with opening up a fans club (Rasikarmandram) for actress Nayantara. As per the story line the hero of the story should open this fans club and Nayanthara should appear when the inaugural ceremony takes place. But the people who came to see the shooting of this scene, were waiting to see the actress. They did not know that it was filmed for the purpose of the Thiruna. When the shooting was wind up, public went and enquired about why Nayanthara did not turn up for the function. Then the director replied that it was merely a shooting based on the story-line of the film. They could not accept the director’s statement and demanded to bring Nayanthara immediately, otherwise they threatened that they would not allow the film people to continue the shooting. But, after hours of argument of the film’s director, the public were pacified.

ABHIYUM NAANUM TELUGU VERSION RELEASED

In an interview to a paper, the film's hero has said that Goa would not be a hit film as expected. Following Jai’s comment, the producer Soundariya had filed a complaint with the Film Producers Council. REMIX SONG IN INDRA VIZHA

The very same song was remixed in the film Indra Vizha, in which actor Sri Kanth has lent his actions. Though, one may not accept the actor as Sivaji Ganesan, but the actions of Sri Kanth was something fantastic, according to the film's production sources. Vijith Radhika Malhotra act opposite Srikanth. The film is directed by Selvaraghavan's one-time assistant Don and the music is scored by Gangai Amaran.

NANDALALA RELEASE WILL BE IN APRIL

The film is about to be released in January this year did not take place, because many big banners films were released and felt the scarcity of cine theaters, the sources said. The film is now in full-shape and the director has re-edited once the editing was over. When he did the editing, the film had lost two and a half minute scenes were cut.

By N.THYAGARAJAN Chennai, Mar 11: Charging him with demeaning its members, the ‘physically challenged welfare association’ here has asked director Bala to apologise for the scenes depicting the mute and blind in poor light in his film, Naan Kadavul. The association in a statement threatened legal action if the director did not come out with an apology and delete the offending portions in the film. Association representatives ‘Engineer’ Gopinath and Ramesh Veeramani said the film projected a negative image of the physically challenged, as though such people had no option but to take to begging or prostitution to eke out a living. There have been any number of success stories born out of hard work and honest enterprise, but Bala ended up killing his visually-challenged heroine just to save her from the central character played by Arya, the association said. Bala in an interview said his film was a true picture of the organised beggary racket and was inspired by first-hand account. --

The child artiste's father Mohammed Ismail who is a TB patient said that his son had taken on the world and won and added that he was proud of his son and demanded more money and also a house as promised by the producer. " I think they will not fulfill the promises that was made before my son was taken for the shooting of the film" said Mohammed. He also said, that still he was living in the slum, and the Oscar had not catapulted his family financially.
