NEXT BATCH OF ACTORS FOR KAANA KAANUM KAALANGAL

The serial is to provide a platform for youngsters aspiring to become actors. Actress Suhasini Manirathnam, along with a couple of others judged and selected the student for this batch on June 22nd conducted at Kumara Raja Muthiah Hall.

COMEDY.COM IN RAJ TV CHANNEL

Comedy.com, a comedy serial directed by Venkat, being telecast through Raj TV channel on weekdays at 8PM has won the sizeable amount of viewers. According to the story line, it revolves around mother-in-law and the new bride in the family. Each and every incident of the family is woven with funny incidents occurring bringing rib-tickling comedy. The two get in to fight over trivial issues and the other family members remain silent spectators of those incidents that are taking place. Kaveri, Adada Manohar, Soundarya, Shankar plays the main roles

KARTHIK LAUNCHED HIS OWN PARTY

Actor Karthik on Monday launched his own political outfit, Akila Indiya Naadalum Makkal Katchi, and unveiled the party flag. Speaking to newsmen in Chennai, the actor turned politician denied that he was banking on the support of Devar community. ‘I am a follower of Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar. He never voiced for any particular community. And I too will never do it.’ Karthik said he was in a hurry to launch the party as he was flooded with requests from followers across the State. It has to be noted that the actor was recently expelled from the post of the general secretary of All India Forward Bloc.

DREAM ACTRESS HEMAMALINI IN KAMAL'S MARMAYOGI

And this time too, the hero of the film is none other than Kamal Hassan. Kamal Hassan, who is also the best friend of Hema’s husband Dharmendra has offerd the acttress an important role in his next filck Marmayogi. It is said Hema’s character would be a turning point to the screenplay. Says Hema, ‘I am very much happy to act with Kamal. And I am sure that my role will touch the hearts of the audience.’

YUVAN SHANKAR RAJA IN BOLLYWOOD FILM

Yes, Yuvan Shankar Raja, the younger son of Maestro Ilayaraja is going to Bollywood, thanks to his youthful tunes. It is said that the junior Raja is scoring music for a Hindi film, which would have Sunny Deol in the lead. With futher talks are currently on, an official announcement is expected to be made soon. Interestingly, Yuvan also has plans to compose a multilingual music album which would be marketed by a corporate firm currently busy with producing and distributing movies in Tamil industry.

VIKRANTH ACTING WITH VIJAYKANTH

Later, when Surya suffered a sabbatical, ‘Captain’ shared screen with him in Periyanna, a film that helped a bit to Surya’s career. Similarly, Vijayakanth is now acting with Vikranth, cousin brother of Vijay, in Engal Asan. According to sources, it is said that the senior actor dons the role of a do-gooder in a village and helps Vikranth to enter wedlock with his ladylove. Meanwhile, the positive feedback that his recent release Arasangam evoked has given Vijayakanth one more reason to smile. Following this, the actor turned politician has instructed Engal Asan director to shape up the film well.

CHAYA SINGH IN "VALLAIMAI THARAIYO"

Says she, ‘the film with Parthiban and Chaya Singh in the lead portrays the pains and challenges of women. Unlike others who had earlier told same kind of stories, we tried to throw light on women’s plight in a commercial way. The film would surely work with the audience.’ Says Chaya Singh, ‘I had to take a break in Tamil since offer continously knocked my doors from Kannada and Bhojpuri industries. Vallamai Tharaiyo is the right movie to mark my comeback. I am happy that I had worked with an experienced actor-director like Parthiban.’
