OBAMA WANTS TO SEE SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE

The US President, Barack Obama, wants to watch Slumdog Millionaire, the White House has said. "I don't know if he has seen Slumdog Millionaire. I know he wants to," White House spokesman, Robert Gibbs, told reporters during the course of his daily press briefing.

Slumdog Millionaire, the exhilarating rags-to-riches fairy tale set in Mumbai, swept the Oscars with eight awards including the best picture, best director, best adapted screenplay, with A R Rahman becoming the only Indian to bag two Oscars for the best score and original song.

SINGER MANO BECOMES MUSIC DIRECTOR

( by Mrs Karpagam N.Thyagarajan) Playback Singer Mano who has been in the field of music for over 25 years and lent his voice in 20,000 songs in all languages is turning as music director through the Telugu film Somberi. Sorna Nithula, a lyricist, is directing the film. Says Mano, " Any one can understand the lines of the lyrics in my music direction. I won't allow the music overlap the lines of songs". When coming to know about Mano's interest in music direction, many more producers have come forward to music direct for their films and Mano has entered into agreement for music directing three Telugu films.
