ACTRESS BHUVANESWARI ARRESTED




Film and Tv fame actress Bhuvaneswari who is allegedly involved in a police man attack was arrested near Ambur today (Tuesday).

Five of the actress's friends too were arrested at different places in Chennai, the police said.

The actress, her friend and their henchmen were coming out of a drive-in theatre on the East Coast Road on Sunday night after 10.30 PM.

According to police, one Mr Kumar went to the drive-in theatre to watch the Tamil film 'Thuppakki. While leaving the theatre at 10.30 pm, Kumar asked Damodarakrishnan, an advocate, to move his car as it was parked behind his vehicle.The advocate did not respond to the request of Kumar, Kumar has blamed in his complaint. Then he (Kumar) tried to drive out without touching Damodaran's car but grazed it by accident. Damodarakrishnan who was enraged action of this attacked him.

The actress who had accompanied Damodarakrishnan to the theatre, supported the advocate and both jointly entered into heated argument with Kumar. Damodarakrishnan made a call and 10 of his friends, all of them are said to be advocates, arrived on the spot. As soon as they started raining blows on him, Kumar alerted the control room and a patrolling police rushed to the spot.

When the Neelankarai Police station SI Krishnamoorthy and Head Constable Baskar tried to pacify the warring groups, a few of them allegedly attacked Baskar and injured him.  It is also alleged, that the some of these men damaged the wind shield of Kumar's car and the patrol vehicle before they escaped when they spotted the policemen alerting senior police officers for help.

Based on complaint filed by Kumar, the police have registered a case under section 147, 148, 506 (ii) and under the provisions of Tamil Nadu Public Property (Prevention of Damage and Loss) Act 1992.
