SURYA IS ALWAYS SELECTIVE TO FILMS

Surya at present is acting in Varanam Ayeram under Goutam Menon's direction. It will be his second film under the director. Surya in this film appears as a college student and becomes a Military Officer. It has been said, that this film will be a turning point for Surya. The earlier turning point came in his life after the release of the Kakka Kakka. For this film, Surya has done a lot of exercises to improve his body structure to the adapatiblity of his role as a college student and the Military man. Surya in his recent interview has said, that he had been always choosy in selecting characters and that was the reason why he appeared in two or three films in a year. Following the heavy schedules of shootings, he said that he could not take care of his female child Thea and when he returned in the late hours to his house, his daughter without closing eyes would play with him. He felt that on many days and in many occasions he could not enjoy the playing with his daughter.

SINGER MANO BECOMES MUSIC DIRECTOR

( by Mrs Karpagam N.Thyagarajan) Playback Singer Mano who has been in the field of music for over 25 years and lent his voice in 20,000 songs in all languages is turning as music director through the Telugu film Somberi. Sorna Nithula, a lyricist, is directing the film. Says Mano, " Any one can understand the lines of the lyrics in my music direction. I won't allow the music overlap the lines of songs". When coming to know about Mano's interest in music direction, many more producers have come forward to music direct for their films and Mano has entered into agreement for music directing three Telugu films. "I want compose for Tamil film songs too. When this Telugu film's cassette is released, I hope I may be able to get chances in Tamil" says Mano
