Police begin investigation over Mahadevan's suicide

It is not yet known, whether the film playback singer and Carnatic musician, Nithyasree's husband Mahadevan had left any note before he allegedly committed suicide on Thursday. But the police began thorough inquiry as to what had led Mr Mahadevan, an Engineer by profession in a Central Government to take such an extreme step. In an inquiry made, it came to the light that Mahadevan became depressed, due to his dear mother suddenly passing away some months ago. Since then, Mahadevan had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital, it is said. The police had inquired with some of the relatives of Nithyasree to find out was there any enmity between the Playback singer and Mahadevan. Further investigations are on.

Kamal's fans arrested

Murthy (26), Murugan (42) and Surya (42), all the three said to be fans of actor Kamal Hassan were arrested for allegedly threatening film producer and actor Rajan through several phone calls when the producer joined hands with other film producers opposing the move of Kamal's screening of Vishwaroopam film through DTH, eight hours before the release of the film in cinema halls. The director who met the police commissioner recently in a complaint has stated that some unanimous calls had threatened him, for opposing the Kamal's idea. The police who were on toes following the complaint of the producer, made a track of the phone calls and arrested the three hailed from Hosur.

Nithyasree's Husband commits suicide

Eminent Carnatic Musician and Film Playback Singer Nithyasree's husband Mahadevan committed suicide by jumping into a river near Kotturpuram on Thursday morning. The real reason for the suicide of the playback singer's husband is not yet known, however, some public who were watching the victim getting down from his car, jumped into the river. The people raised alarm, but before he could be saved from the river, he died. It is said, that the playback singer Nithyasree also consumed over dosage of sleeping pills, after she came to know about her husband's death. But this was strongly refused by the family members of the singer. Some say, that the playback singer herself visited the spot from where Mahadevan jumped into the river and cried herself louder in public on seeing her husband's body being fished out from the river. It is after Karnan, the producers of the Rajinikanth starter Sivaji has been changed into 3 D version has been released in more than 12 cinema halls of Chennai and it may be released in 20 theaters throughout Tamil Nadu. It is hoped that the Sivaj had brought laurels and full of collections to the theaters which had released earlier, is now taking in a new dimension. The sound of the film at theaterical atomosphere, it is expected, would woo a lot of fans and other film viewers to cinema halls. Similarly, the Sivaji Ganesan starrer which ran in city theaters had brought tremendous collections with always hanging "House Full" boards. Bharathi Raja supports Kamal's DTH plan

 Producer Bharathi Raja has supported the single preview show of Vishwaroopam, in DTH,eight hours before its release in cinema halls. The producer and director is of the view that the preview show on DTH platforms price of Rs.1000 ahead of the release would help for spreading the news of how good the film was. Producer A.Kothandaraman also known as KR said that a film of this scale with Rs.95 crore budget would require other streams of revenue to cover costs, especially since Kamal Hassan was not demanding Minimum Guarantee (MG). Kamal says the question of  MG would come into play when he was not confident about his product.

Kamal is firm on his decision of screening and releasing his Vishwaroopam on the DTH platform. The actor is keen on to introduce the film in pay-per-view mode on direct-to-home (DTH) networks on the day of its release made in cinema halls. Mr Kamal is of the opinion that by screening the film Vishwaroopam through the DTH, one could come to know about the film from the spot judgments and associated anxieties. The actor who participated in a function on Sunday said that the digital scanner should be seen as opening new avenues for revenues for cinema at a time when the video piracy was spoiling the industry by creating heavy loss to the producers. Vishwaroopam First Show Through DTH Opposed

Tamil Nadu Theater Owners' Federation President Abirami Ramanathan has appealed to Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan to give up the idea of screening of Vishwaroopam on the first day of its release. The idea of Kamal Hassan to exhibit the Vishwaroopam on the first-day through the DTH system has been opposed by the members of the the Tamil Nadu Theaters Owners Federation as they felt that it would affect the collection of cinema halls. The Federation's president Abirami Ramanathan said that the actor Kamal Hassan who briefed the Federation members about the only one show that would be telecast through the DTH would woo most of the viewers to theaters. A fee of Rs.1000 would be collected from the persons who wished to enjoy the film on the day of its release and this would in no way affect the collection theaters screening the Vishwaroopam. Actress Vidya Balan is getting married on December 14. The actress is going to marry Siddharth Roy Kapur, who is a social activist and also the Managing Director of UTV. Though only a couple of days are left for the actor's marriage, there seems no sign of  announcement about the marriage publicly. It has been said that the reception of the married couple will be taking place in Chennai. The actress belonged to the native of Ottapalam, Kerala and studied in Mumbai University. She has won Filmfare Awards and Screen Awards for four times.

VISHWAROOPAM ALBUM RELEASE ON DEC.7

Now the date for the release of the Vishwaroopam album has been fixed on December 7th. The cast and crew of the film produced by Raj Kamal Films International, will participate at two different functions to be held simultaneously in Madurai Velammal College grounds and Hindustan College Grounds in Coimbatore, sources said. Originally, it was planned to release the album on November 7 last, but the sources confirmed that it would take place only on December 7th Friday. It was expected that the birthday celebrations of Kamal Hassan's ( Nov.7 ) would go along with the release of the album. But, it did not take place. Actors Andrea Jermiah, Pooja Kumar, Rahul Bose and Shekar Kapoor who form the core cast of the film will all take part in the audio-release function. The music of the film has been scored by the trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Vairamuthu has penned the lyrics of the film.

Waiting for the day when Haridas will be released: Mrs Sneha Prasanna

Mrs Sneha Prasanna  eagerly waits for the release of Haridas film in which she has done a wonderful role. She feels that the role in the film would fetch her name and fame. In  an informal chat, the actress said, she has been actively engaged in the shootings for advertisements and the release of the Haridas film should not be treated as a comeback to acting in films.  " I have come to acting after seven months, spending happily, the married life with Prasanna, however,  I have kept busy myself with acting in some product-development films" said the actress who appeared in a cheerful mood. Actor Kishore is appearing is the hero of the Haridas, directed by G.N.R.Kumaravelan and music directed by Vijay Antony.    Prithviraj Das, Soori and Pradeep Rawat and other leading artistes appear in the film.

SACHU'S HOUSE BURGLED

Burglars broke open the steel-almirah of the house of veteran comedian actress Kumari Sachu and decamped with at least 40 sovereigns of gold and a cash of Rs.50,000. The actress who is a close friend of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa, noticed the theft only on Thursday after she returned home, said police sources. The actress is the chairperson of the Iyal Isai Nataka Mandram. Further investigations are on, and it is said the maid-servant of the actress was found missing, since the burglary took place.

ACTRESS BHUVANESWARI ARRESTED

Film and Tv fame actress Bhuvaneswari who is allegedly involved in a police man attack was arrested near Ambur today (Tuesday). Five of the actress's friends too were arrested at different places in Chennai, the police said. The actress, her friend and their henchmen were coming out of a drive-in theatre on the East Coast Road on Sunday night after 10.30 PM. According to police, one Mr Kumar went to the drive-in theatre to watch the Tamil film 'Thuppakki. While leaving the theatre at 10.30 pm, Kumar asked Damodarakrishnan, an advocate, to move his car as it was parked behind his vehicle.The advocate did not respond to the request of Kumar, Kumar has blamed in his complaint. Then he (Kumar) tried to drive out without touching Damodaran's car but grazed it by accident. Damodarakrishnan who was enraged action of this attacked him. NO DUBBING ARTISTES FOR PRABHU DEVA IN ABCD

NAGA CHAITANYA IN AUTO NAGAR SURYA

A day before Naga Chaitanya's birthday, (on November 22, 2012) the first-look of the actor in the film Auto Nagar Surya was revealed. The film is directed by Deva Katta and produced by Venkat for RR Movie Makers banner in which Samantha plays opposite Naga. According to the director, the schedule of the films at various important locales were completed, except a few patch-up scenes and songs have to be filmed. RAMYA'S MAID SERVANT ARRESTED

Police very recently arrested the maid-servant of actress Ramya Krishnan for looting away gold ornaments worth more than several lakhs from a steel-almirah of the actor's house. The actress who is busy with the schedules of films and tv serial was away surprised when she noticed some of the gold jewels from the bureau was missing. Ramya is living in Injambakkam, Chennai on the ECR Road. She immediately asked her father to file a complaint with the police. The police also suspected that some of the close visitors to the actor's house must have hand in the theft. The maid-servant also did not turn for her duties for several days, hence the police made a hunt and caught hold of the servant, near Guntur. The maid-servant also confessed to the police, that she alone took the jewels from the house. The police further recovered gold ornaments from her. IRANDAM ULAGAM NEARING COMPLETION

N.Thyagarajan Irandam Ulagam, the period film, directed by Selvaraghavan is nearing completion with its final schedule to take place at important locales in Hyderabad, sources said. Arya and Anushka Shetty who are in the lead roles, have given their dates for the schedule. The final schedule will take not less than 20 days, in the capital of the Andhra Pradesh, a source said. Most of the scenes of the film were shot in Georgia, it is said and the film has come up properly, said another source.

A few scenes from Thuppakki will be removed

Following the protests from a very few of the Muslim organisations, the director and producer of the Vijay-starrer Thuppakki have decided to delete some scenes in the film. Some of the organisations in their protest staged on Wednesday said that some of the scenes allegedly portrayed the community in a bad light. On Thursday, the TN State Chief Secretary Debendranath Sarangi held talks with the film's director A.R.Murugadoss, producer Kalaipuli S.Dhanu and representatives of about 24 Muslim organisations, it is learnt. As of now around 1400 prints of Thuppakki are in circulation across the world and an expert said removing the objectionable portions would not be difficult, as it could be done digitally. It is also learnt that about five controversial portions in the film are likely to be removed. According to information, the film is doing good business at the box office and the removal of the portions from the film in no way affect the revenue of the film, it is said.

Renowned Hindi Film Actor Rajesh Khanna breathed his last at a private hospital in Bandra on Wednesday. He was 69. The first Super Star of the Hindi film married Dimple Kapadia in 80s. Rajesh Khanna is survived by two of his daughters. The funeral will be taking on Thursday, his family members said.

'VEYIL' PRIYANKA ENTERED WED LOCK
