We all became sad that the ticket counter was closed, and someone outside the cinema-hall said that the show began already and the people from different areas have been watching the film. I took  what the stranger told me was false, but the sound of the actor's fans from inside the theater were in raptures clapping and whisteling and watching the film, I sensed. Chennai, Nov 11: Vijay starrer Bigil which was released for the Deepavali, has been made a huge collection of Rs 200 crores since the day one of the release, said a film distributor and added that in Chennai alone, the film had made a total collection of Rs 15 crore, challenging to other films' in the ticket sales. Bigil has been successfully running in Kerala and Andhra Pradesh states has exceeded the collection target and this was because mainly, that the Karthi-starrer film Kaidhi and Vijay's Bigil alone were released during the Deepavali, and the people who are fans of both the actors, have been visiting the theaters to watch both the films repeatedly as the other films of Rajinikanth and Ajay will be released during January for the Pongal festival. Though the Kaidhi film has made less ticket sales collection in the first few days, it had also started making huge collections, as the days went by, said the distributor.

Chennai: Comedian Santhanam is a pairing with two heroines for a film being shot at the Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad. According to sources, the shooting  of the film will be taking for 60 days, in which Tara Alisha Perri and Swathy Muppala, are acting in the film. Swathy Muppala very recently won the Miss Karnataka award. According to story-line of the film,  the sources said that the film is a full-length comedy, in which Santhanam settles his choices between the two heroines. Anand Raj, Mottai Rajendran, Bharath Reddy, Dance Master Sivasankar are acting in the film. According to sources, the film is to be released next year February, after the Pongal festival.  

By N.Thyagarajan Chennai, Oct 19: At the 50th International Film Festival of India jointly organised by the Union Ministry Information and Broadcasting with the Entertainment Society of Goa, more than 200 films will be screened. The IFFI will be held for 10 days,in which producers, film artistes of all vernaculars, including media and press persons are taken by the organisers.. Additional Director General of the Film Festival Chaitanya who was here recently said that the films that a re to be screened in the film festival will be given awards by the juries appointed by the Oscar Award. The IFFI has planned to organise more meetings in all the states to invite producers, actors, including media persons by organising meetings, Chaitanya said.

After the successful run of the Rajini Starrer "Enthiran", the Director and Producer Shankar wanted to make another film with the Superstar and began the shootings two years ago. Luckily, the shooting and dubbing work including the rerecording work were over. At a function held recently in Chennai Sathyam Theater, the Director and Producer Shankar released the second teaser of the film, but had kept secretly the date on which the film will be released. After ace-actor Sathyaraj has tendered his open apology and requesting Kannadigas to give their support in releasing the Bahupali film in Karnataka, the Kannadigas gave up their protests. It is said due to the ace actor's comments, sometime ago, against the state, the Kannadigas were opposing the release of the film in their state. Sathyaraj had done a marvellous role in the film, which would fetch him a great name in his career of acting, as it was fetched through the Onbathu Rupai Notu film. Sathyaraj tendering an open apology to Kannadigas, has been welcomed by the Kanndigas and it is expected that the people will lend their full support for the release and success of the film, say many. It is likely the film Bahupali will be released on April 28th, sources said.

Chennai, March 13 N Thyagarajan An unexpected rumour on Suresh Menon which shook many of the ace actress Revathy's fans came to a halt, only when the fans came to know that Suresh Menon is alive and acting with busy schedules in Tamil films. Later , it was learnt that Film Director Deepan has passed away in a private hospital in Cochin. The last rites for the director will take place on March 14, at his native place in Trivandrum. Though the late director's Malayalam film Leader flopped, he directed many films with Prithviraj as hero. Deepan gave two hits, namely " Pudhiya Mugam"and Hero. Two years ago Deepan had directed Dolphins Bar with Suresh Gopi in action-cum-masala film. The film Sathya in which Jayram had done his marvellous role, is yet to be released, before its release.

Budding Star from Malayalam film industry Athithi menon is very active in Tamil films too now. After Pattadhari, she is acting currently in Santhanadevan.
